Welcome to the Bahamas! The former British colony awaits you with open arms. Visiting the Bahamas isn’t just an experience, it’s a lifestyle. Harbour Island in the Bahamas is the ideal vacation destination for you. Just 9 hours away from Heathrow, the Bahamas offers a world of difference when it comes to the dreary weather of London.

From Europe, the best way to fly is via British Air or Virgin Air to Nassau, then one of the three connecting airlines to get to Eleuthera Bahamas Airport. The simplicity of being  able to visit a former tropical colony with such ease, makes the experience all the more worthwhile! And with the Pound exceeding the Bahamian Dollar’s value by almost double; the opportunities of things to do, see and try and endless!

Flights from London usually arrive in Miami, Fort Lauderdale in the early afternoon. American customs should have you in and out relatively quickly. Once you’ve arrived in the states, you should connect to your flight to Harbour Island quickly. Arriving at customs usually takes about 45 minutes; so plan carefully as to how much time you need to connect flights. It is highly recommended to give yourself two hours time to pass through customs and transfer to your connecting flight.

Your flight from Florida to Nassau only takes around 45 minutes. From there you will connect via Bahamasair, Pineapple air, or Southern Air for your flight from Nassau to Eleuthera. Once in Eleuthera, you must take a taxi to Spanish Wells via the Queens Highway on the northside of the island. Doing so requires passing over “Glass Bridge”, a narrow natural land bridge connecting the southern portion of Eleuthera to the north.

Take a five dollar taxi ride to the northern tip of the island, where you can catch a connecting 5 minute ferry ride to Harbour Island. The cost should be around $5 dollars per person. Welcome to the Bahamas! The adventurous splendor of the island awaits you!
