Flying in from New York to the Bahamas is a breeze! New York offers daily flights to Nassau and Eleuthera for as low as $260.00. Your flight may take a little over three hours to get there; but once you arrive, it’ll feel like you’ve gone to another world.

The islands of the Bahamas offers something very different than New York winters! From swimming in a 75 degree private cove, to playing with wild dolphins; the opportunities of fun in the sun never ends in the Bahamas. A weekend getaway at Harbour Island in the Bahamas is the perfect solution for your winter woes.

The first option, and the most cost effective option is to fly into Nassau or Eleuthera directly on a commercial flight from Miami International Airport.

Direct flights to Nassau/Eleuthera from NYC:

  1. Delta
  2. American Airlines
  3. Bahamas Air

Direct flights to Nassau are preferred, although connecting flights through Atlanta and Miami are also available at a slightly lower fare. If you plan on arriving during winter months, remember to leave your sweater and gloves behind! All you will need is some sunscreen, a shirt and some sandals. A carry on should suffice for your trip. If bringing more luggage, do not over pack! Airlines have become more strict with how to get to Harbour Island; including weight policies when flying on smaller commercial jets. The requested weight limit is no more than 50 lbs.  

Once you arrive in Nassau, catch a quick flight on one of the following domestic carriers:

  1. Pineapple Air (recommended).
  2. Southern Air
  3. Bahamas Air

Is it essential that your trip be thoroughly planned before you go! Upon arrival in Eleuthera; you will take a short ride by taxi ($5) down to the docks to transfer to Harbour Island via ferry at Spanish Wells. A 5 minute water taxi (also $5) is all it takes to get from Eleuthera to Harbour Island. Once you arrive, you may never want to leave!
